Part 2: Attack of the.....

God has been teaching me simple things. I like that. I have no problems with that. Recently, in reading Donald Miller's book prayer and the art of volkswagen maintenance, he talks about something just real simple. In this one place, he describes how he's on the road trip with his friend, and how he's wondering why his friend is growing and showing more in the fruits of the Spirit than he is, when he has all the knowledge that he could ask for up to that point, and then he realizes that it REALLY isn't all about the knowledge when it comes down to it. It comes down to living out your faith and BEING Christ-like. Not just knowing what it's like. Actually acting it out.

And that hit hard because I've been thinking a lot about that kind of thing lately over the past while because I come from the background where I grew up going to church, in a Christian home, being the token 'good Christian kid' and grew up KNOWING and getting, but not necessarily practically understanding what the crap I actually believe. Now God is gradually showing me what it's like and what that is and how it works.

I like it :).
